Miami Valley Hospital South Hosts 5KTwilight Run/Walk

(DAYTON, OH) September 21, 2012 - Get moving and support a good cause. Sign up now for the third annual Twilight 5KRun/Walk to be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at Miami Valley Hospital South. This family friendly event benefits the Help Her Fight Fund which provides cancer education, screenings, and diagnostic testing for uninsured and underinsured women seeking treatment at Miami Valley Hospital.

The event is structured to include a number of activities including local vendor exhibits, demonstrations and health information. Radio personality, Kim Faris of 94.5 Lite FM radio will also be on hand to meet participants.

The race begins at 7:30 p.m. Live entertainment will take place between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. featuring the 80’s cover band, Stranger. All participants will be eligible for prizes that will be given away during the evening.

Interested racers and walkers can register online at Off Site Icon. Cost of registration is $25 up to September 30. Late registration is $30. Registration will be available on site starting at 6:30 p.m. on race day. Race participants will each receive a t-shirt, give-a-ways from local businesses and free food compliments of Donato’s Pizza, Earthfare Market and Scratch Catering. 

Organizers have planned to have the final leg of the course, which will traverse through the wooded area behind Miami Valley Hospital South, illuminated, a feature not typical of 5K events.

Event sponsors of the Twilight 5Krun/Walk are Dayton Physicians Network, Revitalize MD MedSpa and Laser Center, Voss Auto Network, and Chapel Electric Company.

Miami Valley Hospital soputh is located at the intersectin of Wilmington Pike and Clyo road in Centerville.
