A dual-diagnosis treatment program is in place for clients who have both chemical dependency issues and a co-occurring mental health diagnosis. Examples are bipolar disorder and alcohol abuse, or major depression and marijuana dependency. The purpose of the program is to address both components at the same time. Research and outcome studies have supported the success of this approach.
A professional treatment team established Turning Point in the late 1970s. It is an intensive outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program for adults. Our experienced counselors provide education, group therapy and biweekly individual sessions. Our family program offers support to clients and their loved ones.
Turning Point’s approach is client-centered. It is designed to increase knowledge about alcoholism and addiction, as well as encourage the practice of new behaviors that support sobriety. Individualized treatment planning is a collaborative effort between the client and the counselor, who identifies specific objectives for reaching the client’s desired goals.
Turning Point’s staff is there to motivate and encourage each individual to improve their quality of life. The success rate is very high for those clients that are ready and motivated to participate in their recovery.
This program is Medicare Part B-approved, and covered by most major insurances.
