Perinatal Intensive Care
The Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) Perinatal Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides specialized care for high- and at-risk moms before, during and after birth. Our PICU is the only high-risk maternity center in the Dayton area. We have a 24/7 emergency team that cares for mom and baby around the clock. Our team includes perinatologists, obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and labor and delivery nurses.
Typical cases seen at MVH PICU are moms-to-be with:
The rooms in PICU are private and spacious and include intensive care equipment for any situation. Mothers from 17 counties in southwest Ohio are transported to Miami Valley Hospital for specialized care in our family-centered Perinatal Care Unit.
Certified Intensive Care
Our PICU is Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified.
