Our patients all have one thing in common: persistent or nagging pain that’s become a major barrier to enjoying a full, active and productive life. All of our Premier Health pain centers offer outpatient pain services. We treat a variety of conditions including:

We do not treat headache pain (including migraine headaches) or non-malignant pelvic pain.

Interventional Pain Treatments

When your pain isn’t responding to medication, it may be possible for you to receive pain injections. These pain interventions include trigger point injections, joint injections and many nerve blocks, such as:

Beyond injections into joints, our pain centers offer radiofrequency ablation(destruction of nerves with heat), which can give you long-term relief from back pain. The pain center at Miami Valley Hospital South performs radiofrequency ablation not only on facet joints of the spine but also on sacroiliac joints and knee joints, helping those suffering from pain in the lower back, buttocks, and knee. 

The Atrium Medical Center Pain Center performs the MILD (Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression) procedure on high risk patients with a narrowing of their spines. This procedure often gives patients immediate relief. In Ohio, only Atrium Medical Center and one other health system perform this procedure. In addition to the MILD procedure, Atrium’s pain center offers spinal cord stimulator trials as well as permanent implants. Both are outpatient procedures, and patients often experience instant pain relief.
