Miami Valley South Health Center Announces Addition of Outpatient Surgical Services
Centerville, Ohio (August 24, 2006) - Miami Valley Hospital announced the addition of outpatient surgical services at Miami Valley South Health Center. Services will be provided by Far Hills Surgical Center, the first on-site tenant at Miami Valley South Health Center located at Wilmington Pike and Clyo Road in Centerville.
"Miami Valley Hospital is pleased to continue our long-standing partnership with Far Hills Surgical Center in this new venture," said Mary Boosalis, president and CEO of Miami Valley Hospital. "Outpatient surgical services will significantly enhance the broad spectrum of offerings at this new facility, helping to better meet the health care needs of south Dayton residents."
Far Hills Surgical Center will offer outpatient surgery at Miami Valley South Health Center beginning in late 2007. The new 18,000 square foot surgical center, on the second floor of the diagnostic and testing building, will have as many as eight operating rooms plus minor procedure rooms. The outpatient surgery center at Miami Valley South Health Center will offer the same surgical specialties that are offered currently through Far Hills Surgical Center in addition to adding procedures as needed by the local community. Procedures will include pain management and general, hand, orthopedic, plastic, podiatric, urological, and ear, nose and throat surgery.
"This exciting collaboration will improve our ability to serve south Dayton residents and will help further meet the needs of Dayton-area physicians," said Michael Galvin, administrator of Far Hills Surgical Center. "Having the surgery center as part of this new facility will greatly enhance physicians' abilities to diagnose and treat their patients in one convenient location."
In addition to outpatient surgery, Miami Valley South Health Center will house a variety of services including a 24-hour emergency department; medical imaging including high-speed CT, MRI, and ultrasound; a breast center with digital mammography; cardiac diagnostics; laboratory services; a five-story medical office building with more than 60,000 square feet of physician office space; and more. Opening in October of 2007, Miami Valley South Health Center will serve residents of the southern Dayton region.
