Miami Valley Hospital Names Christopher Danis Chief of Staff
Miami Valley Hospital recently appointed Christopher J. Danis, MD, as chief of staff for a two-year term, effective immediately.
"We are happy to have Dr. Danis take the lead position among physicians with privileges at Miami Valley Hospital," said Mary Boosalis, MVH's president and chief executive officer. "As chief of staff, his primary role is to be an advocate for the providers and a liaison for hospital administration as we continue to grow and evolve within health care's competitive landscape."
Since 1988, Dr. Danis has been managing physician and president of Hand & Reconstructive Surgeons, Inc. He is a founding member of the board of directors of Far Hills Surgical Center. In addition, Dr. Danis is an assistant clinical professor at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He was also the chair of Miami Valley Hospital's Department of Surgery from 1996 to 1998.
Dr. Danis joined the MVH medical staff in 1988, and earned his medical degree from Wright State University in 1982. He obtained his prerequisite general surgery training at Wright State University from 1982 to 1985, before completing his plastic surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, in 1987. Dr. Danis is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He also completed a yearlong hand surgery fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 1988. Additionally, Dr. Danis earned an MBA degree in 1999 from Washington University in St. Louis.
During Dr. Danis's term, James M. Pacenta, MD, cardiologist, will serve as chief of staff elect.
