Miami Valley Hospital Recognized Nationally for Efficiencies in Supply Chain Management
Miami Valley Hospital is being recognized nationally for excellence in supply chain management improvement by VHA, Inc., a national alliance of not-for-profit hospitals. The award is being presented May 21st in St. Louis at the organization's annual leadership conference.
The category of supply chain management improvement demonstrates efficiencies/improvements in managing supplies cost and delivery, typically one of the largest budget items after labor costs. Winners in this category must significantly improve supply chain management processes in the areas of product selection, contracting/sourcing, procurement, standardization, distribution and logistics, inventory management and product utilization.
In addition, two other hospitals in the Premier Health Partners network are being recognized for their supply chain improvement efficiencies. Good Samaritan Hospital and Middletown Regional Hospital are accepting awards from VHA, Inc. as well.
"For all of Premier Health Partners' hospitals to be recognized nationally for their cost-cutting measures by a prestigious organization like VHA is laudable," said Thomas Breitenbach, president and CEO of Premier Health Partners. "I applaud the providers, nurses, staff and administrators within each of our hospitals for their conscientious attention to systems management."
