Special Needs

Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) offers special services as part of our mission to serve and help all people.

Language Services

MVH makes every effort to provide language services and communications resources for people who do not speak English or are Limited English Proficient (LEP), or who are visually or hearing impaired.

Interpreters and other communication aids are available for hearing impaired, visually impaired, and LEP patients. The hospital can provide interpreters, TDD telephones, talk boards in English and Spanish, sound amplifiers, telephone voice amplifiers, and motion impaired telephones.

Living wills and health care power of attorney information is available in Braille and on audiocassette, as well as in Spanish.

For information on interpreter services at MVH, please contact our Department of Interpreter Services at extension 4643. For information on other special needs, please call the Consumer Relations Department at extension 2666.

Service Animals

When a disabled patient, guest, employee, or medical staff member is accompanied by a service animal, the animal will be granted access to all areas of this facility except for areas that require special precautions, such as wearing a mask, gown, or gloves. The hospital reserves the right to restrict the animal’s access when necessary, in keeping with the hospital’s pet visitation guidelines.
