At Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) in Dayton, Ohio, stem cell/blood marrow transplantation is an effective treatment option for many cancers including leukemia, lymphomas, multiple myeloma and a growing list of solid tumor cancers such as testicular cancer. Stem cell/blood marrow transplantation is a cancer treatment that involves the administration of high doses of chemotherapy and/or radiation.

Treatments
Two transplant options are available at MVH:
- Autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation
- Autologous blood marrow transplantation
The transplant course is similar in both procedures. The only difference is the source of the stem cells and how the cells are collected.
