Administrative Fellowship Program and Minority Nursing Scholarships
Administrative Fellowship Program
The Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) Administrative Fellowship Program prepares individuals for mid-level management positions in health care. The two-year fellowship program includes rotations through major departments in the hospital while also accommodating participants’ special interests. One Fellowship is awarded every other year.
Fellowships give employees experience in financial management, process engineering, human resources administration, facility planning, and strategic planning. They also expose participants to the organization’s decision-making process through meetings of the hospital board, medical staff, senior management, and influential external community groups.
More detailed information about the Administrative Fellowship and instructions on how to apply are available in this pdf. To open this file you’ll need Adobe® Acrobat Reader®, which you can download for free.
Minority Nursing Scholarships
MVH recognizes that the provision of culturally competent services very often starts at the bedside. To this end, the hospital developed minority nursing scholarships and partnered with both Sinclair Community College and Wright State University to assist minorities who are pursuing a nursing degree.
Since its inception nearly a decade ago, we have awarded in excess of $100,000 to minority nursing students. As we increase the diversity of the pool of nurses, we also leverage our resources to build a healthier community.
