Local Chefs on Board and Ready to Make a Stir at Celebrate the Valley Fundraiser
Miami Valley Hospital’s Foundation hopes to raise $100,000
DAYTON, Ohio, April 4, 2008 – Several noted area chefs are lending their talents to a unique fundraising gala benefiting patients enrolled in Miami Valley Hospital’s Premier HeartWorks program.
The chefs’ unique services will be offered in an exciting live auction at the Celebrate the Valley gala, which is set to take place at Dayton Wright Brothers Airport, April 26, 7 p.m. to midnight. Funds raised by this year’s gala, which is now in its fourteenth year, will go toward enhancing cardiovascular programs for female patients at Premier HeartWorks located at the Miami Valley South campus in Centerville.
Chaired by Karen Solarek, Celebrate the Valley is presented by the Associates Council, a 25-member volunteer committee coordinated through the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation. This year’s theme is “Into the Heart of the Jungle.” The evening will include silent and live auctions, casino games, dinner, dancing, live music and a spectacular raffle prize – an exquisite Kwiat platinum diamond star pendant, generously donated by Weber Jewelers.
In the live auction, attendees will have the rare opportunity to bid on an evening of culinary indulgence prepared by some of Dayton’s most celebrated chefs, including: Ann Kearney from Rue Dumaine; Elizabeth Wiley from Meadowlark Restaurant; Matt Hayden from Chimneys’ Inn of Miamisburg; and Jenn DiSanto from the Easy Way Out.
Some of the chefs will prepare a meal in the winning bidder’s home and some will prepare a special meal in their restaurants. Prime Time Party Rental and Oakwood Florist will finish off this package with linens, dishes, stemware, silverware and a gorgeous centerpiece.
The live auction will also offer an extraordinary wine cellar containing more than 40 specially selected bottles of wine.
Proceeds from Celebrate the Valley will go to enhance services for female patients at Miami Valley Hospital’s Premier HeartWorks. Since symptoms of heart ailments in women can be quite different from men. The enhanced, comprehensive program will raise awareness, identify personal risk factors and provide supportive management of cardiovascular disease in women.
Tickets to the event are $200 per couple or $100 per person. For reservations call the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation office at 208-2700.
