Keith D. Bricking, MD, Medical Director of MVH Emergency Department
Keith D. Bricking, MD joined MVH in 2005 as an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine. In 2007 he became Associate Director of the Emergency Department at Miami Valley Hospital and Miami Valley Hospital South. In 2010, he was nominated Chair of the Department, a position he maintains today. In July 2012 he became Medical Director of the Emergency & Trauma Center at Miami Valley Hospital and remains Associate Director at Miami Valley Hospital South. Dr. Bricking received a bachelor of science in biology from Northern Kentucky University. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where he graduated with High Distinction and as member Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. Dr. Bricking is a clinical associate professor with Wright State University Department of Emergency Medicine
Darin Pangalangan, MD, FACEP, Medical Director for MVHS and Jamestown Emergency Departments
Dr. Darin Pangalangan joined MVH in 1993 while doing his residency. In addition to his role as Attending Emergency Physician, he has been the Associate Director and Co-Medical Director of Emergency and Trauma at MVH. Dr. Pangalangan received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Foreign Affairs from John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. He completed his Integrated Residency in Emergency Medicine at MVH, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Pangalangan is a member of the Clinical Faculty at Wright State University for 12 years.
Andrew Hawk, MD, CareFlight Air and Mobile Services Medical Director
Dr. Andrew Hawk has been at MVH since 1990 as an Emergency Medicine Physician, and he has been Medical Director of CareFlight since 1993. He oversees the medical care of the patients transported by CareFlight. Dr. Hawk also writes protocols that crews follow for medical care, hiring, and coordinates continuing education. He reviews all transport patient charts and does follow-up within the hospital and with referring agencies.
Mary Chellis, MD, FACEP, Associate Director of the MVH Emergency and Trauma Center, Associate Director of the Emergency Department of Miami Valley Hospital South
Dr. Mary Chellis started at MVH in 1996 while doing her residency. After completing her residency, she became an Attending Emergency Physician at MVH, and she continues in that role today. She is also Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at MVH, heading up and instructing in the same program she completed.
Dr. Chellis received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry at Ohio State University and her Doctor of Medicine at Wright State University (WSU) in Dayton. She completed her internship at Mt. Carmel Medical Center in Columbus. Her residency was in Emergency Medicine through the WSU residency program at MVH. Dr. Chellis is fellowship trained and a member of the Clinical Faculty at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
Joseph Mauro, MD, Associate Director of the MVH Emergency and Trauma Center, Associate Director of the Emergency Department of Miami Valley Hospital South
Joseph Mauro, MD, has been with Miami Valley Emergency Specialists since 2010. Dr. Mauro graduated cum laude from Miami University where he majored in Zoology. He received his doctor of medicine from the University of Toledo School of Medicine, and was an elected member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for graduating with honors. Dr. Mauro completed his residency at Wright State University in Emergency Medicine, where he was rewarded the Faculty Award for Clincal Excellence. Dr. Mauro is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the co-medical director of the Riverside Fire Department.
Liz Denlinger, BSN, MSA, Director of Nursing, Emergency and Trauma
Liz is experienced in flight, transport, and critical care nursing. For the past six years, she has served as the Trauma Program Manager. In this role she has facilitated the American College of Surgeons Level I Trauma designation as well as The Joint Commission Trauma Certification. Liz is responsible for the Trauma Program, Emergency/Trauma Center, Advanced Treatment Area, Express Admission Unit, the Injury Prevention Center, and the IV Therapy/PICC Teams.

Cathy Hall, MS, NE-BC, CHEP, Director of Clinical Operations at MVHS
Cathy Hall joined MVH in 1980. Before becoming Director of Clinical Operations, she held many positions at MVH including Trauma Program Manager and worked as a Flight Nurse for CareFlight. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing at Wright State University. Cathy is certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist and is board-certified in Nursing Administration by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Andrea Slivinski, MS, RN, ACNS-BC, CEN, Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Specialist at MVH and MVHS
Andie Slivinski joined MVH in 2005. Previously she had worked in the Emergency Department at Children's Medical Center in Dayton and The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Andie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Wright State University Miami Valley College of Nursing and Health in 2002, and her Master of Science in Nursing Education at Wright State University in 2008. Andie is certified in CPR, Trauma Nursing Core Course, Emergency Nursing Pediatrics Course, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Brendan Deere, EMT-P, EMS-I, EMS Coordinator at MVH, MVHS, and Jamestown Emergency Departments
Brendan joined MVH in 2006 as a MICU paramedic and crew leader. In 2010 he assumed the role of EMS Coordinator. Brendan is responsible for overseeing EMS education, Protocol testing, the regional Drug Bag Program, and any EMS issues. He is also an instructor in International Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and CPR, as well as a course coordinator for Advanced Trauma Life Support.
