The Truth about Cancer Myths
There are many myths about the causes of cancer. Perhaps you have heard cell phones can cause brain tumors or using an antiperspirant can lead to breast cancer. Learn the facts at the next Mall Walkers Club health event set for Fri., June 12 at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek.
Featured speaker will be oncology nurse Elena Mikalauskas who works with cancer patients at Miami Valley Hospital. She will be speaking about “Cancer Myths, Fact or Fiction.” The talk begins at 8:45 a.m. in the food court and healthy snacks will be served.
Miami Valley Hospital offers a free health program the second Friday of each month along with health screenings as part of its Mall Walkers Club.
You do not need to be a member of the club to attend the health talks but if you would like to join you can do so. Membership is open to anyone 18 or older. Register online at www.mvh.org/mallwalkers or stop by the information desk at Fairfield Commons. There is no cost to join. When you sign up you will receive a membership bag filled with a pedometer, walking journal and a Fairfield Mall shopping pass.
The Mall at Fairfield Commons is open to walkers Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until closing and Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
