DAYTON, OHIO, August 17, 2009 – Miami Valley Hospital along with Premier Community Health is offering free health screenings at the Kettering Community Health Fair on Sat., August 22. The event will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Health screenings such as total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), blood pressure, blood sugar, hemoglobin A1C (for those with diabetes), DermaScan, take-home colorectal screening kits, height and weight measurements and so much more will be offered. No appointments are needed and no fasting is required.
“Getting screened and encouraging people to live a healthy life is such an important part of what we do,” said Pamela Reichel, executive director of Premier Community Health. “The earlier you know if there are any problems, the easier they are to be addressed.”
The family-friendly event not only offers health screenings, but will provide activities such as bike helmet fittings, a fire and safety exhibit, child car seat inspections and vehicle inspections.
Participants can also enjoy live entertainment and bid on items during a silent auction.
