Consumers Rate Miami Valley Hospital the Dayton Area’s Best
Hospital Receives Fifteenth Consecutive Consumer Choice Award
Dayton, Ohio (November 11011, 2010) – Miami Valley Hospital is the only hospital in the Dayton region to be honored with a Consumer Choice Award based on a recent survey of consumers conducted by the National Research Corporation (NRC). This is the 15th consecutive year that Miami Valley has received this distinction.
The survey identified hospitals which healthcare consumers said had the highest quality and image in 300 markets throughout the United States, according to Ginny Martin, President of NRC’s Ticker Division.
In its annually conducted NRC Healthcare Market Guide study, billed by the organization as the nation's most comprehensive consumer assessment study of the healthcare industry, the NRC surveyed roughly 270,000 households representing consumers in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. Winners were determined by consumer perceptions on multiply quality and image ratings collected. The winning hospitals ranked highest in their Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA) as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.

No other hospital in the Dayton area has won the award since its inception in 1996.
The Consumer Choice Award identifies hospitals that consumers have assessed as having the best overall quality and image based on four metrics: Best Doctors, Best Nurses, Best Image/Reputation and Best Overall Quality.
