Miami Valley Hospital Hosts NICU Baby Reunion
DAYTON, OH (April 8, 2011) – Staff members of Miami Valley Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) are hosting a “Galaxy of the NICU Stars” baby reunion. The event will take place Saturday, May 7 between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on the Wyoming Street level of the Berry Women’s Center. Children who are NICU graduates and their family members are invited to attend.
The event includes free food and games throughout the day. Registration for the event can be done on line at www.mvh.org/NICUreunion and remains open until April 29.
Miami Valley Hospital opened its Level III NICU in 1975. Since then thousands of area babies needing special medical attention soon after birth, either due to being born prematurely or having other extreme medical conditions at birth, have been cared for by the NICU’s staff of expert physicians, nurses and other clinicians. The purpose of the reunion is to reunite families with the staff so they can see the progress their former patients have made.
It is expected that over 800 guests will attend the event which is held every other year.
