Support Groups and Classes
Because on-going care and support are key components of our rehabilitation patients’ success in treatment, Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio hosts and provides referrals to professionally facilitated support groups.
These groups may be geared toward patients, their families and their caregivers. Meetings are held regularly throughout the year, both at MVH locations, as well as in the community.
Additionally, we sponsor a variety of educational classes and programs to share the most current information about advancements in treatment options and developments in condition-specific therapies. Classes are led by rehabilitation experts and therapists who specialize in providing treatments for a broad range of conditions including:

HIRE Employment Support Group
Current and former HIRE clients have the opportunity to participate in a quarterly meeting that provides participants with a forum for sharing job seeking tips, successes and employment-related concerns.

Montgomery County Stroke Survivor and Caregiver Support Group
Join other men and women who are understanding and open to sharing support and experiences for the stroke survivor, the family and the caregiver. Be a part of educational opportunities, group outings, and most importantly, get to know others who truly understand, give valuable information and help family and loved ones in positive ways. No registration required.

Out on a Limb Amputee Support Group
Group offers support for amputees, their families and friends, including matching a new amputee with an amputee of similar age, sex and amputation to provide support and helpful hints to new amputees.
