Naomi M. Kane, MD, Breast Center Medical Director
Dr. Kane completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University Program in Medicine. She was Chief Resident and also taught as an Assistant Instructor in Radiation Medicine at the end of her residency. Continuing her education, Dr. Kane completed her fellowship in CT/MRI/Mammography at the University of Michigan Medical School, 1988-89. She stayed on as Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Michigan and to practice in the Ann Arbor area, 1989-1992. She worked at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC from 1992 – 1996 as the medical director of breast imaging. She has been at MVH since 1996. Dr. Kane is a member of the Society of Breast Imaging, RSNA and ARRS. Dr. Kane also sits on the MVH Oncology Committee.
William Lavin, MD, Medical Director of Medical Imaging
Dr. William Lavin started at Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) after his residency in 1986. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Duke University and his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Lavin has developed a well-rounded practical knowledge of ultrasound, Doppler, CT, mammography, breast interventional procedures, ultrasound and CT interventions, as well as breast MRIs. He has a special interest in mammography. Dr. Lavin is board-certified by both the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Radiology.
Dan Palomino, MD, CT Section Chief for Body Imaging
Dr. Dan Palomino has been with MVH since 2000. He started his education at the University of Dayton, where he received his bachelor’s of science degree in pre-medicine and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.
His internship was completed at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation Hospital in New Orleans as well as his diagnostic radiology residency as Chief Radiology Resident. His imaging fellowship was at Fletcher Allen Health Care at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. Dr. Palomino is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology in diagnostic radiology.
Gary George, MD, Radiologist
Dr. Gary George came to MVH in 2003. His formal education began with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He received his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. George completed his internship at the David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base (AFB) in California. His diagnostic radiology residency was at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he was chief resident in his final year.
Dr. George has spent many years in military health care as a flight surgeon and radiologist in Colorado, Korea, Germany, Spain, and most recently at Wright Patterson AFB. He has taught at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and currently teaches at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
Bruce Gearhart, MD, Radiologist
Dr. Bruce Gearhart received his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama and his medical degree from the University Of Alabama Birmingham School Of Medicine. He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.
Dr. Gearhart served as a staff radiologist for the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He then practiced as a staff radiologist at Riverside Methodist Hospital before coming to Miami Valley Hospital where he has been a staff radiologist since 2003. Dr. Gearhart is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and licensed to practice in Ohio.
M. Patricia Braeuning, MD, Radiologist
Dr. M. Patricia Braeuning is a radiologist at Miami Valley Hospital. Prior to her arrival at MVH, Dr. Braeuning was medical director at Christ Hospital Women’s Imaging Center. Dr. Braeuning graduated summa cum laude in biology and chemistry from Xavier University. She received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College Of Medicine.
Dr. Braeuning completed her residency at the Indiana University Medical Center and completed her fellowship in mammography and ultrasound at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She was an Associate professor at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, department of radiology. Dr. Braeuning is certified by the American Board of Radiology.
