The
da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System at Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) is the first of its kind in the greater Dayton area. Originally introduced for prostate surgery, the system is now being extensively used in
gynecological procedures. MVH has a dedicated robotic surgical team that has completed over 850 multi-specialty robotic procedures.
Robotic surgery gives surgeons surgical accuracy by combining 3-D visualization, high-definition cameras, and four robotic arms. Complicated surgeries that were once done with traditional techniques and large incisions can now be performed with fewer complication and incisions about the size of a dime.
