Meet the Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) Medical Imaging team.

William Lavin, MD, Medical Director of Medical Imaging

Dr. William Lavin started at MVH fresh out of his residency in 1986. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Duke University and his Medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Imaging technology has changed much since 1986 and Dr. Lavin has developed a well-rounded practical knowledge of ultrasound, doppler, CT, mammography, breast interventional procedures, ultrasound, and CT interventions, as well as breast MRIs. He has a special interest in mammography. Dr. Lavin is board-certified by both the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Radiology.

Kin Wong, MD, Nuclear Medicine Section Chief

Dr. Kin Wong started at MVH in 1995 as a neuroradiologist. While in college he was awarded the John Harvard Scholarship and received his Bachelor’s degree at Harvard University in Applied Mathematics. He received his Medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. His residency was in Diagnostic Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Furthering his education, Dr. Wong completed a Cross Sectional Imaging mini-fellowship in ultrasound, CT, musculoskeletal, and abdominal neuromedicine and then a full fellowship in Neuroradiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Wong is board-certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, American Board of Radiology, and American Board of Nuclear Medicine.

Rick Brittain, MD, Interventional Radiology Section Chief

Dr. Rick Brittain joined the medical staff of Miami Valley Hospital in 2000.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Wright State University graduating Summa Cum Laude.  He also received his Doctorate of Medicine from WSU.  Dr. Brittain completed his internship at Methodist Hospital of Indiana in Indianapolis.  He was chief radiology resident at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, Pontiac, Michigan. He also completed his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Brittain is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, certified by the American Board of Radiology and the State Medical Board of Ohio.

Dr. Larry Hall, DO, MRI Section Chief

Dr. Larry Hall has been with MVH since 1991 as a neuroradiologist specializing in neuroimaging. He has been instrumental with Dr. Mukul Chandra in establishing a coronary CT program at MVH.

Dr. Hall’s education started at Taylor University with a BA in Biology. He received his DO at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was honored with the Massillon Regional Clinical Award and was valedictorian. He did both his internship and residency in diagnostic radiology at Grandview hospital. There he was named Intern of the Year. Following this, he did his fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology and American Board of Radiology for diagnostic radiology, and American Board of Radiology in Neuroradiology.

Dan Palomino, MD, CT Section Chief for Body Imaging

Dr. Dan Palomino has been with MVH since 2000. Dr. Palomino started his education at the University of Dayton, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine and received his Medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

His internship was completed at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation Hospital in New Orleans as well as his Diagnostic Radiology residency as Chief Radiology Resident. His Imaging fellowship was at Fletcher Allen Health Care at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. Dr. Palomino is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology in diagnostic radiology.

Naomi Kane, MD, Breast Center Medical Director

Dr. Naomi Kane came to MVH in 2001. Her medical education started at the University of Michigan, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. She went to New York Medical College for her Medical degree and interned at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Dr. Kane completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University Program in Medicine. She was Chief Resident and also taught as an Assistant Instructor in Radiation Medicine. Continuing her education, Dr. Kane completed her fellowship in CT/MRI/Mammography at the University of Michigan Medical School. She returned to teach as Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Michigan and to practice in the Ann Arbor area. Dr. Kane is certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
