Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) nurses working in the Burn Center will provide patient care, education, and support for a 10 bed inpatient unit and an outpatient clinic.
MVH Burn Center Unit Details
Number of Beds: 10
Types of Patients Cared for on Unit: Patients with burns and other complex wound care.
Common Procedures: Wound care and cardiac monitoring.
Shift Options: Eight hour shifts and 12 hour shifts. Shift times are subject to change at the discretion of the Manager or Director at any time.
Orientation Classes: Your orientation varies based on the needs of the unit when you are hired. You will generally need a six week bedside orientation and four week wound care orientation. You will also need to attend electrocardiogram (EKG) class and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
Experience/Certifications: We will hire new graduates. You are expected to complete advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and advanced burn life support (ABLS) within one year of hire.
