Gynecology-Oncology Patient care
Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) nurses assigned to MVH Gynecology and Oncology-Gynecology Patient Care will provide patient care, physician support, and education in radiation and disease management.
MVH Gynecology-Oncology Patient Care Details
Number of Beds: 28 beds - 4 private rooms and 12 semi-private rooms.
Shift Options: The unit supports a mix of 12 hour and 8 hour shifts. MVH nurses working as support nurses can work 4 hour blocks and 8 hour blocks. Shifts times are subject to change at the discretion of the manager or director at any time.
Orientation Classes: Complete Nursing Orientation in six weeks. MVH nurses also need to take the specific radiation safety class, Electrocardiogram (EKG) classes, and oncology disease management class offered. You will have vast opportunity for many contact hours.
Experience/Certifications: You are encouraged to participate in the advancing clinical excellence (ACE) clinical ladder and oncology certification. You are also encouraged to get involved with the local chapter of Oncology Nursing Society. ACLS is strongly encouraged.
Dress Code: Follow hospital dress code.
Unique Features: Predominantly female patient population. Have a supportive and stable nursing staff with nurse manager, and two associate nurse manager/educators.
