IV Therapy/PICC Team
Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) nurses assigned to the MVH IV Therapy / PICC Teams will utilize their expertise in vascular assessment, access and management of peripheral and central lines. You will also be prepared and trained to perform peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) line placement using ultrasound technology.
Typical procedures you will perform will include an assessment for appropriate vascular access, ongoing care of vascular access devices and peripheral PICC line replacement. Also, MVH IV and PICC nurses will provide support in ongoing patient, staff and student education.

Shift Options:
IV Therapy: weekdays: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., 3 to 11:30 p.m.
Weekends: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and 3 to 11:30 p.m.

PICC Team: weekdays: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Weekends: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Orientation Classes: You will undergo hospital orientation if applicable. You will be precepted by IV Therapy/PICC nurses based on your individual needs and skill level. PICC orientation will require you take a formal 8 hour Ultrasound PICC insertion class, followed by PICC training with a certified PICC nurse.
Experience/Certifications: IV Therapy expertise requires and PICC experience preferred, but willing to train. Certification is an option (CRNI).
Dress Code: Professional scrubs per hospital guidelines.
