Mother and Baby
Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) nurses working in the MVH Mother and Baby unit will provide family centered postpartum and well baby support to new mothers and newborn infants. As an MVH nurse, you will provide patient support and education, including emotional support and assistance to new mothers. Interpersonal support is crucial to new mothers in the MVH Mother and Baby unit following labor and delivery.
MVH Mother and Baby Unit Details
Number of Beds: 40 mom beds and two nurseries.
Shift Options: 12 hour and eight hour shifts are available. Shift times are subject to change at the discretion of the Manager or Director at any time.
Orientation Classes: You will need to undergo three weeks of orientation classes, but extra days are available as needed.
Experience/Certifications: Maternal newborn care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), NRP, and lactation certification are helpful, but not required.
Dress Code: Professional scrubs. Details upon hire.
