Renal Patient Care

Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) nurses in MVH Renal Patient Care will work with patient care and patient support. Patients in this unit are diagnosed with diabetes, kidney transplantation and chronic renal disease.

MVH Renal Patient Care Details

Number of Beds: 24 beds.

Shift Options: Primarily 12 hour shifts. Patient care technicians (PCTs) are all 12 hour schedules. Staff may pick up extra hours in four, eight, and 12 hour blocks. Shift times are subject to change at the discretion of the Manager or Director at any time.

Orientation Classes: MVH nurses and PCTs participate in the orientation classes provided through the Center of Nursing Excellence. RNs also (within the first year of employment on Patient unit – 4 Northeast , 4NE) have a unit-based orientation for the care of the post-op kidney transplant patient. (This is coordinated by the unit-based CNE.

Experience/Certifications: Staff could obtain certifications to include Medical Nursing, Surgical Nursing, or Renal Nursing.

Dress Code: Professional scrubs. Details upon hire.
