Surgical Services
Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) nurses in MVH Surgery Services will provide patient and physician support in the area of surgical procedures and trauma care. You will be working in an operating room and must be prepared for the surgical support that you will be called on to perform before, during and after surgical procedures.
MVH Surgical Services Unit Details
Number of Beds: 23 operating rooms.
Shift Options: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Shift times are subject to change at the discretion of the Manager or Director at any time.
Experience/Certifications: MVH nurses are required to have operating room experience prior to entering this unit.
Dress Code: Hospital provided scrubs for staff in the operating room.
Unique Features: The Operating Room Nurse Intern Program is offered twice a year for staff interested in OR nursing and has no prior experience. There are programs and orientations for all surgical specialties that last about seven months.
