Trauma Unit
Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) nurses assigned to the MVH Trauma Unit will work with and support patients with traumatic injuries. The trauma unit is a pediatric designated, comprehensive care unit, caring for trauma patients throughout the continuum of care, from advanced care to discharge.
MVH Trauma Unit Details
Number of Beds: 39
Shift Options: Nurses and PCTs, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Orientation Classes: Electrocardogram (EKG), and Advanced Care classes. Unit orientation varies based on need. The trauma unit has a two year education plan for nurses, including Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
Experience/Certifications: Mandatory advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) within first year. Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) strongly encouraged within two years. Progressive Care Nursing Certification strongly encouraged.
Dress Code: Professional image scrubs. Details provided upon hire.
Unique Features: We offer a 20 week Neuro-Trauma Internship program for new grads, which includes: focused orientation for neuroscience and trauma patients in advanced care setting, ACLS, EKG and Disease Management Classes. We have a unit based educator and management coverage on both shifts to support your development.
