The Emergency Department at Miami Valley Hospital South

The Emergency Department at Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) South offers the same level of emergency care that patients receive at the Emergency Department at the Miami Valley Hospital main campus. This full-service emergency center offers care for minor to severe injuries, including heart attack, stroke and trauma, with a heliport for CareFlight and an on-site Mobile Intensive Care Unit. Emergency Department sees approximately 34,000 patients each year.

MVH South has board-certified emergency physicians who have trained and staffed the area’s only Level I Trauma Center. MVH South also has advanced cardiac monitoring capability, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on the premises. We have the latest in equipment and innovations, including the Premier Health Telestroke Network, which connects patients in real time with stroke specialist using a computer with a monitor and video camera. This system enables the patient to receive faster diagnosis and treatment, which can lead to improved outcomes.

The Emergency Department has 23 universal rooms that provide flexibility, with special equipment in each room. Emergency medical services (EMS) personnel can call ahead and book a room for a patient so there's no waiting.

The facility is in a convenient location for patients south of the Dayton area. It offers close, free parking, which is set up for quick access and easy navigation to your destination.
